RBR Students Win Big in Future Business Leaders of America Competition

Little Silver, NJ Red Bank Regional’s (RBR) Academy of Information Technology scored highly in their recent regional competitions at Mercer County Community College. Taking first place honors were Andrew Cozetta in Cybersecurity and Jared Katzman for Introduction to Technology Concepts. Colin Mahns placed second for Cybersecurity and Caileen Machard achieved a third place finish for Technology Concepts.

Other students placing within the top ten of their competitions included: Jack Kelleher-- fourth place for Technology Concepts; Kris Kleiber --sixth place for Introduction to Technology Concepts; Josh Eddy-- sixth place for Computer Problem Solving.

RBR’s FBLA team scored well at their recent regional competition with many members headed for the state competition. Pictured left to right are: Kris Kleiber, Union Beach, Jared Katzman, Little Silver, John Merris, Shrewsbury, Josh Eddy, Shrewsbury, Jack Kelleher, Shrewsbury, Taylore Fowler, Belmar, Caileen Machard, Little Silver, Andrew Cozzetta, Neptune City, and Colin Mahns, Shrewsbury.

All the above students will advance to the State Competition on March 11th to the 12th at the Raritan Exhibit Hall in Edison, New Jersey.

The Future Business Leaders of American Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. At the State Leadership Conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the National Leadership Conference each summer.

RBR’s Academy of Information Technology is a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology and the Pre-Engineering program is aligned with Project Lead the Way, a national, not-for-profit organization that promotes pre-engineering courses for middle and high school students.
